The third round of this year’s championship saw us return to the Yarmouth track, one which is challenging and features many interesting jumps.

Qualifying went well, and I lined up 3rd on the grid for the main final. The car was working very well, so we left the settings the same for the final.

The track was now quite bumpy from all of the other finals, so keeping the car on its wheels was going to be hard but key to getting a good finish. As the final started I edged into the lead and set about trying to push as hard as possible to build up a gap between me and the cars behind.

Graham Alsop (Hobao) was very fast and pushed me on, and for the first part of the final it was very close between us. With both of us driving hard but not crashing we managed to build a gap ahead of the others. At about the halfway point, Graham's tyres started to go off slightly and after a couple of mistakes by him I had a comfortable lead.

My car was still working perfectly which enabled me to widen the gap. With 5 minutes to go I eased off a little to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. I am really pleased to have won my first National round with the XRAY.
